Role: Sr. Client Cobol Developer
Location: REMOTE
Term: 24-month contract + possible extensions.

Overview:
Looking for a Sr.-level resource that can be handed work and complete it without much help or supervision.

This COBOL Developer must have analysis skills and be able to see how the coding impacts business rules. They need someone that will play 50% analyst and 50% development.

Project: Migrating the policy data of large, commercial business lines off the mainframe and making it available to Guidewire. The legacy ETL tool is Informatica and the new ETL tool is DBT. Informatica IICS knowledge is important.

Requirements:

• Client Mainframe. 6+ years of experience with Client Cobol, ECL/JCL coding. ECL preferred
• Must be able to effectively perform analysis of existing Cobol programs and be able to articulate business rules within the code*.
• Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred.
• Must be able to effectively communicate technical plans, strategies, and designs to all levels of the company.
• Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of database applications; SQL preferred but not required
• Experience with Informatica preferred. DBT experience would be a big plus.
• May be required to provide on-call support.
