The Senior Controls / Automation Engineer role requires a diverse engineering skill set with the ability to work independently. Responsibilities include process automation engineering, system integration, initial concepts, specifications, design, documentation, project implementation, testing, startup, and training of personnel. You will be a key member of a diverse team tackling complex automation challenges.

You will:
- Lead or contribute to projects involving design, configuration, and testing of material handling control applications.
- Understand project scope and financials, manage time effectively, develop schedules and budgets, and coordinate with project leadership.
- Provide technical solutions and advisement to clients, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to flexible work schedules and travel as needed for system design, development, and startup at client sites.
- Act as an automation Subject Matter Expert.

You have:
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in automation projects, preferably in Material Handling or Distribution Centers.
- BS in Engineering or equivalent educational background.
- Strong technical aptitude, detail-oriented, eager to learn new technologies.
- Knowledge of industry standards, design criteria, and codes related to Instrumentation and Controls.
- Experience developing process control applications using PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, database management, control system tuning, troubleshooting, and startup services.
- Understanding of object-oriented software development and control system network topologies such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.
- Experience with process instrumentation, control panel design, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and instruments during startup and commissioning.
- Experience supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
Application Knowledge in:
- PLC Programming with Rockwell Studio5000, RSLogix5000 (RLL, SFC, ST)
- HMI Programming using Rockwell FTView, Inductive Automation Ignition, or others
- SQL database creation, querying, and management
You may also have:
- Experience with Sortation
- Palletizing
